Q: Can I install a traditional or plasma TV above a gas fireplace?
A: You need to check with the manufacturer of your television. We follow the recommendations of the TV manufacturer. NOTE: The Fireplace Company takes no responsibility of any damage caused by the heat of the fireplace.
Q: What type of stoves do you carry?
A: At this time The Fireplace Company carries Wood, Gas, and Electric stoves.
Q: Do you service wood fireplaces?
A: We recommend a chimney sweep to service your wood fireplaces.
Q: Can you convert a wood stove to gas?
A: You are unable to convert a freestanding wood stove to gas. However, you can transform your wood burning fireplace to either a gas log set or a direct vent gas insert.
Q: How often do you recommend a fireplace tune-up?
A: All manufacturers recommend a yearly tune-up. See: Fireplace Services
Q: How long does a fireplace tune-up take?
A: A fireplace tune-up generally takes 45-minutes to one hour. Large fireplaces or fireplaces that have not been serviced in a while may take longer.
Q: Can you burn a gas log set with the doors closed?
A: All gas log sets need to burn with doors open to draft properly and avoid overheating.
Q: What is an IPI ignition system?
A: Intermittent Pilot Ignition is an electronic system, which uses an electrode to ignite the pilot gas. In turn, the pilot flame lights the main burner gas. The term Intermittent is used because the pilot burner flame is only present when the main burner is operating. When the main burner is off the pilot is also off. The IPI system ensures the pilot flame extends over the burner for immediate ignition and secondly conserves energy when the appliance is not in operation.
Q: Does The Fireplace Company provide plumbing and electric services?
A: At this time a licensed plumber will need to hook up your gas line to the gas valve. A licensed electrician will need to run power to the fireplace.
Q: Can you install a fireplace remote retroactively?
A: Give us your make and model and we will research the possibilities.
Q: Do you carry venting in stock?
A: We carry a wide selection of venting in our showroom warehouse and have access to most special order venting.
